35 metre spool
“Composed of flat filament silk and fine gilt wire twisted together, this is unlike other metallic “wrapped” threads. Strong, flexible and resilient, Gilt Sylke Twist is designed to be used in many types of needlework, whether for historical reproduction or present-day needle art.
Gilt wire is composed of ½% gold on a silver plated copper core. Filament silk is an untwisted, flat silk.
A #24 chenille needle is recommended, but you can also use a #24 tapestry needle. After threading your needle, twist the thread tail and it will not come out of the eye.”
