SUSEY OLIVER 1754 [More Info]

“At first glance one would guess this sampler was made in Scotland
because of the unusual border of illuminated letters, but upon closer
inspection Susey has given credit to her teacher “Maryan Robinson
of Bradford.” Bradford is in North Yorkshire, not far from the border
with Scotland. Presumably Susey’s teacher was educated in the needle
arts in Scotland”
