Everything a simple sampler "needs": ABCs, various kinds of embroidery, little borders, motifs and a signature!

FL has been working on coarse fabric with cotton and wool, framed with triple rows of running stitches and edged with red ribbon.

The sampler (inventory number 18B317) belongs to the large collection of the Museum of European Cultures, Berlin. A very similar school sampler from Baden-Baden, also stitched around 1880, illustrates the cover of the exhibition catalogue "Samplers from the Museum of German Folklore" of the year 1978.

Special orders once placed cannot be changed. You will be asked to provide a deposit if you wish us to order any items especially for you. If you change your mind and decide not to go ahead with the order the deposit is non-refundable.

If a product is faulty, please return it to us along with your docket within 14 days of purchase for a full refund or replacement. There are no returns or exchange on discounted and sale goods. If items have been marked down due to an imperfection it will be identified as such.
