The Crewel Gobelin Newsletter - December 2013

Just a few short sleeps and the sound of reindeer will be heard on all our roof tops.

If you are still in need of those last minute requirements for your holiday stitching, or a special gift for a stitching friend, we have lots of new things in store to help you out.

We have had a second delivery of the very beautiful Sophie Digard scarves and necklaces; each one is a masterpiece of colour and design. Just a small selection this time, so don’t hesitate.

There are a number of new books and magazines that have just arrived. The magnificent ‘Butterflies and Moths’ by Jane Nicholas is in the shop and we have just had another shipment from Needleprint. We have lots of new embroidery and stitch books including Royal School of Needlework Essential Guides and some Japanese titles.

There are new charts from Scarlet Letter and Gigi R, plus new to the Crewel Gobelin we have a selection of Rouge du Rhin charts, which are very elegant.

We also have a number of prefinished items which will make it to our website over the coming weeks. Lovely items for you to embellish or leave plain as you desire.

And for storing your many projects our beautiful customised Zippits, which come in two sizes and are trimmed with either Liberty or Les Olivades fabrics – practical and beautiful.

This year has been a very busy one with lots of new additions to the store and exciting changes. But it also saw the retirement of our much loved employee Gill Finney. Since Gill retired in September she has been spending more time with her husband, family and lovely friends. Gill worked part time at the Crewel Gobelin for over 16 years and has been an inspiration to many. We will miss Gill’s energy (so much energy!) practical knowledge, generosity and wonderful sense of humour but hopefully not for too long. Gill has offered to run a series of workshops for us in 2014, more information to come.
